Cash for Your Books

You do not have to make an appointment for cash, just come in during our cash hours: Monday - Thursday from 9:30 to 5:30. You do have to stay while we go through them, but we are pretty quick! It shouldn't take too long. We look specifically at condition, inventory, and marketability. (There are times of the year when the buyer is not here so it is a good idea to call before coming in.)

Condition:

Our condition requirements are that there should be no water damage, smoke, stains, cracked spines, loose pages, tears on the cover, ex-library books or book club editions. If the book is a hardback, it must have its dust jacket.

Inventory:

We check our system to make sure we don't already have a copy. If we already have a copy, we probably won't take another one unless it is a very popular author. We also don't take whole sets, unless it is a box set. We look at them on a book by book basis.

Marketability:

Lastly, we check the marketability of a book. We do this by checking our system to help us determine whether the book is still sellable or not.

If all of these sections check out, we give up to 25% of what we plan to sell the book for. The percentage depends on the marketability of the book.

We do not accept Harlequins, Love Inspired, or audio books for cash, though we do for trade credit.

Trade Credit for Your Books

As with cash, you don't need to make an appointment to trade with us. We trade every day we are open up until a half hour before closing. The trade hours are Monday through Saturday 9:30 - 6:00 and Sunday 1:00 - 4:30. You do have to while we go through them, but it does not usually take very long. If you want trade credit, we make a quick account for you.

What an account does:

An account keeps track of your trade credit, books that you buy, and your reserves. It's not necessary to have an account to buy from us, but it is nice that we keep track of your purchases so you don't accidentally buy the same thing twice. The reserves are also very useful and there is more info on them in the FAQ section.

After this, we will start your trade. We look specifically at condition, inventory, and marketability.

Marketability:

Lastly, we check the marketability of a book. We do this by checking our system to help us determine whether the book is still sellable or not.

For trade, we give you 50% of what we plan to sell the book for. For example, if we are selling a book for 4 dollars, you would get 2 dollars of trade credit.

For trade, we do accept Harlequins, Love Inspired, and audio books. However, we only take Harlequins and Love Inspired up to three years back as of the current month.

Using Your Credit:

When using you credit it is a fifty / fifty policy. That means that you can use your credit towards fifty percent of your purchase and the other fifty percent comes out of your pocket(cash or credit card).
